Understanding Downtime: Which Treatments Fit Your Schedule

Understanding Downtime: Which Treatments Fit Your Schedule

“Downtime” means different things for different treatments, and it’s often the deciding factor in what someone actually books. Here’s a general breakdown by recovery time, so you can plan around your own schedule.

Zero-Downtime Treatments

These fit into a lunch break with no visible sign you’ve had anything done. A Carbon Facial and HydraFacial both leave skin brighter with no recovery period, most clients go straight back to makeup and their normal day. Milia Removal is similarly quick, any minor redness usually settles within hours. IV Therapy involves no recovery at all beyond the seated session itself.

A Day or Two of Recovery

Some treatments involve mild, short-lived side effects that are easy to plan around but worth knowing in advance. Micro-needling typically causes redness similar to a light sunburn for 24 to 48 hours. Botox and Fillers can leave mild redness or slight swelling at injection sites, usually settling within a day. Fat Dissolving involves some tenderness or bruising for several days after each session.

Plan-Ahead Treatments

These aren’t about downtime after a single visit, they’re about committing to a course over weeks or months for the full result to build. Acne Scar Removal and Pigmentation Solutions both work through a series of monthly sessions, with gradual, cumulative improvement rather than one dramatic change. Skin Tightening and PRP work the same way, results build steadily over 8 to 12 weeks as your body’s own collagen response kicks in.

If your schedule is the main thing holding you back from booking, tell us that upfront, we can usually suggest a treatment that fits around it rather than the other way around.
